LP Autogas

Alternative Vehicle Fuel

What Is LP Autogas?

LP Autogas is a clean, efficient alternative fuel for vehicles that significantly reduces harmful emissions, costs less than petrol, and is largely produced locally.

Today, more than 18 million vehicles worldwide run on LP Autogas, making it one of the most widely adopted alternative fuels. Unlike petrol, diesel, methanol, or ethanol, LP Autogas is non-toxic, non-poisonous, and insoluble in water, making it a safer and more environmentally friendly option.

Automotive LPG, CNG, and LNG (collectively referred to as Autogas) are specially formulated for vehicle use, with their quality and specifications regulated under the National Fuel Quality Standards Act 2000 and The Autogas Determination 2003.

cleaner fuel, there is less wear and tear on the engine

How does it work?

LP Autogas conversion does not change how your vehicle operates — it simply adds a dedicated LPG fuel system alongside your existing petrol system.

This includes a separate LPG tank, piping, injectors, LPG filter and converter, and a dedicated ECU, allowing your vehicle to run on either petrol or gas.

Because LPG is a much cleaner-burning fuel, it results in less engine wear and tear, extending the engine’s lifespan. It’s also 100% lead-free, produces fewer harmful emissions, and causes less oil contamination, making it a smarter, more eco-friendly choice.

Combustion is cleaner and more efficient, which means your engine runs quieter and smoother. Thanks to advancements in technology, modern LPG systems fully integrate with most petrol vehicles, offering a seamless driving experience — you won’t even notice the switch between fuels unless you look at the indicator.

Autogas is a safe, proven alternative fuel.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

What is LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas)?

LPG is a clean, efficient fuel made from hydrocarbons, mainly propane and butane. It changes from gas to liquid when compressed, making it easy to store and transport. LPG is a by-product of natural gas extraction and oil refining, ensuring its accessibility.

The World’s Most Popular Alternative Fuel

With over 18 million vehicles globally running on Autogas, LPG is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world. It’s trusted for its reliability, availability, and performance — offering a smooth driving experience with no compromise on power or efficiency.

Save on Fuel, Drive Further

Switching to LPG means up to 40% savings on fuel costs compared to petrol or diesel. It’s a smart, cost-effective solution for both private and commercial drivers looking to cut down on operating expenses without sacrificing performance.

Cleaner Driving with Lower Emissions

LPG reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 21% and cuts particulate emissions by up to 95%, making it a far more environmentally friendly choice. By switching to Autogas, you’re not only saving money — you’re also contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

LPG Conversion

An LPG (Autogas) conversion involves installing a specialised kit onto your existing petrol vehicle, allowing it to run on both petrol and LPG. This creates a bi-fuel system, giving you the flexibility to switch between fuel types based on availability and cost.

The conversion is done by professionally trained installers and includes fitting a steel LPG tank—usually in the boot or another approved location—along with piping, injectors, a multi-valve unit, and an LPG-specific ECU (Electronic Control Unit).

The multi-valve is a critical safety component that includes a fuel gauge, pressure relief valve, excess flow valve, and automatic shut-off valves. LPG is filled via a filling valve usually located at the rear of the vehicle for convenience.

From the tank, LPG travels in liquid form through secure pipes to the front of the vehicle. It passes through a filter and a converter, where it is turned into gas before being used by the engine.

A dedicated Autogas ECU works alongside your car’s standard ECU to monitor exhaust emissions and adjust gas flow in real-time. This ensures the engine runs efficiently, cleanly, and smoothly at all times.

Drivers can switch between petrol and LPG using a dashboard-mounted switch, or the system will automatically switch to petrol when the LPG runs out. The transition is seamless—even while driving—so you’ll hardly notice the change.

Because LPG burns cleaner than petrol, it results in less engine wear, reduced emissions, and lower maintenance costs. Plus, it offers fuel savings of up to 40%, meaning you can recover the cost of the conversion in a relatively short time, depending on your mileage.

LP Autogas is safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, making it a smart alternative for cost-conscious and eco-conscious drivers alike.
